This is a story about a weekend escape to a place where the rocks look like sleeping giants and the frost feels alive.

Location 1 / Vetlan Stone
Vetlan Rock is a sheer cliff on the Vishera River, stretching 1,750 meters and reaching a height of 263 meters. It is one of the most popular attractions in the Northern Urals. It is incredibly beautiful in winter: the gray vertical cliff and the deep green forest, covered in fluffy snow. This combination evokes the primordial power of the Urals—calm and eternal!

Location 2 / Talitsa village
Talitsa is a tiny village in the Krasnovishersky District, seemingly lost in time and snow, practically the "edge of geography" in this direction. It's wonderful to linger in the silence of this vanishing village, where the birdsong is louder than the news.

Location 3 / Polud Stone
Polyudov Kamen is the highest point of the ridge, rising 527 meters above the endless Parma. In winter, storm winds and extreme humidity transform the local relict forest into an army of bizarre ice sculptures. The only way to quickly break through the deep snowdrifts to the summit is a high-speed climb on powerful snowmobiles.

Location 4 / The Pomyanenny Stone
The Pomyanenny (Kolchimsky) Stone is one of the most charismatic, wild, and spectacular locations in the northern Perm Krai. Its beauty lies not in the azure sky, but in the honesty of the elements, in the whimsical icy feathers the wind has cast on the rocks, and in the titanic tranquility of the stones that have stood here for millions of years.

How to get there in winter?

By car from Perm to Krasnovishersk (320 km). The road is paved, but can be icy during snowfall. The road to Pomyanenny is a grader that resembles a washboard. It's accessible by any vehicle. Download offline maps in advance.

What to take with you?

Multi-layered warm clothing, a reliable thermos, a power bank (the battery dies in no time in the cold), and a tow rope for the trunk.

Is it hard to find a snowmobile transfer?

Very easy. Upon arrival in Krasnovishersk or Bakhari, you will find local snowmobile guides instantly. They will take you to Polyud in 20 minutes or arrange an expedition to Pomyanynny Stone.

Is there internet coverage?

In cities and on mountaintops, the connection is stable. In forests and on stretches between points, the network disappears completely.
